The ice fishing contest season on Mille Lacs Lake is heating up this month with contests almost every weekend through February.
First up is FISHERMEN’S WHARF RESORT’S 4TH ANNUAL ICE FISHING CONTEST on Saturday, January 26th from Noon to 2:00 pm. $500 is first place for the biggest fish with top drawing price to include a 3D HD Digital LED projector with a 76″ HD screen and a 5.1 Surround Sound Stereo System. Lots more prizes from augers to gift cards and more.
Your $25 entry fee includes entry to Fishing contest, BBQ on the ice in a huge heated tent, lake access thru Fishermen’s Wharf / Toucan’s, and entry for door prizes. Directions to designated fishing area off of Big Point will be given at registration area on the day of the tournament. This is a 100% payout contest.

PREVENT 7 is having it’s 1st Annual fundraising contest that focuses on the prevention and awareness of bullying, hazing and suicide. The mission is to educate and encourage life long development for children and their families through interaction and education. This contest will also be on Saturday, January 26th from Noon to 3:00 pm in Isle Bay. Grand prize is an Ice Castle with other great prizes from Twins tickets to gas cards and more! $25 advanced entry, $35 at the door and $75 family pack.

KJ’S ICE JAM FISHING CONTEST kicks off the month of February. Saturday, February 2nd. $15 contest entry fee includes free shuttle bus and 2 free kegs of beer at the Onamia Vets Club. Cash prizes – $500 & 3 – $250 prizes plus door prizes. Drawings at 4:00 pm at KJ’s landing.
3 Live Bands following weigh-in at Vets Club feature – Carpet Rems, 90 Proof & Blimp: a tribute to Led Zepplin

February 16th brings you NITTI’S HUNTERS POINT RESORT ANNUAL PERCH AND POUT HUNT. Contest runs from 8 am to 3 pm. Cash prizes to the 3 largest Perch and 3 largest Pout. $10 entry fee. Bring the kids cuz there’s prizes for them!

TWP ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT AT LYBACK’S ICE FISHING on Saturday, February 23rd. Registration starts at 7:00 am and weigh-in ends at 6:00 pm. $40 entry fee per person and this tournament is limited to 150 entrants. 100% payback of prize money in cash and prizes. Big fish entries will be in Walleye, Perch, Northern Pike and Tullibee. Will pay back cash 3 places in each category.
