Everyone knows that Lake Mille Lacs offers amazing fishing and is often referred to as the Walleye Capital. If you aren’t an experienced fisherman quite yet, Lake Mille Lacs offers both launch fishing and guide fishing. Since Lake Mille Lacs is so big, it is one of the only Minnesota lakes that can accommodate launch fishing, and launch fishing groups can range anywhere from six to 50 people. The lake also offers expert fishing guides that have many years of experience on the lake. Their knowledge can help you make the most out of your fishing trip and gain memorable fishing stories.

Another activity perfect for spring in the Mille Lacs area is golfing. The area offers golf courses for every skill level, whether you are a beginner or want to try your hand at a PGA-level course. The two main area golf courses are Fiddlestix Golf Course and Black Brook Golf Course at Izatys Resort, which are both open to the public and offers scenic views for the perfect day of golf.

Mille Lacs is also home to the Soo Line Trail, which is an 11-mile side-by-side paved and gravel trail that connects Kathio and Father Hennepin State Parks. This trail is perfect for hours of hiking, biking or rollerblading now that the spring weather is here. The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails and the Milaca Bike Trail are also nearby to give you even more options for a hiking or biking adventure.
