Sunday, September 13, 2015, was designated as “God’s Work, Our Hands” day by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Bethesda Lutheran Church of Malmo, MN chose to adopt the one-mile of beach on the North side of Mille Lacs Lake between Reddy Creek (mile marker 34 on State Hwy 18) and the former site of the Carlsona Restaurant. It was a beautiful, sunny, cool autumn day but windy enough to be enjoyed by the windsurfers also. The Labor of Love of the 13 members from Bethesda filled several bags of trash. Several car parts and building supplies were also found. The Highway Department removed these collections from the side of the road.
