If you’re looking for great hiking trails in MN, head to the Lake Mille Lacs area. You’ll discover the Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail with 11 miles of side-by-side paved and gravel multiple-use trails, which are excellent for hiking. The hiking trails are near Mille Lacs Kathio and Father Hennepin State Parks (which also have trails) and pass through scenic forests and countryside. If you’re lucky, you may even spot the elusive albino whitetail deer that lives nearby.

Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail

When it comes to excellent hiking trails in MN, the Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail is the finest developed section of the Soo Line Rail roadbed and it will eventually connect Genola, MN to Superior, WI. You will find plenty of convenient parking for the Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail, either at the Library/Depot on Roosevelt Road in Onamia, or one block south of Main Street on 5th Avenue in Isle.
